OK so apparantly you can only apply for a Work permit from outside of Canada so bearing that in mind i have come back to sunny UK where i intend to visit the Canadian High Commision in London and hopefully be back in Canada early into the new year. AVW-TELAV were impressed with the voluntary work i did with them and have been kind enough to leave the job offer open for as long as it might take to obtain a work permit. You gotta love Beauracracy! Been working hard on the album and only a few finishing touches left before mixing and mastering then time to get it out there and get out live to promote it. Cant wait. Whilst in Burlington Ontario i also worked on a great backing track CD aimed at musicians that like to play along with a blues band. I was responsible for all art work and the design of the website and got the album distributed online. Visit www.canadianjamtracks.com for more details.

Big news this month is my recent offer of a job with AVW-TELAV, a large Audio Visual company based in Missisauga, TO. After a successfull interview with Andrew Watkins, the job is now mine. The company provides sound, lighting and visuals for large events all over Canada and even provided its services to the G8 summit when it was in Toronto. All good being offered a job, but i now have to jump through the relevant hoops to get a work permit. Wish me luck! In the meantime i will be doing some voluntary work with the company so i can get to know the crew and the what the role will include.

Spending a lot of time working on the new album tracks, which are certainly benefitting from access to beautiful instruments. Recently discovered the Mecca for all Canadian musicians that is Long and McQuade, where, unlike UK music stores you are actively encouraged to try the instruments. I could just hang out there all day some times without a penny to spend all the while soaking up the knowledge of the brilliant staff that work there. Another great thing about this store is that they will rent you any piece of kit, for any length of time for a reasonable price. Therefore i immediately lept in and rented an Alan and Heath Mixing desk, Studio Monitors, A great little Boss bass emulator and a Rhode NT2A condensor microphone which, when combined with my Avid Protools MBOX2 pro is making the album sound pretty darn sweet. Still on a quest to find work within the Canadian sound industry but meeting some amazing people along the way.

Ive been in Burlington, Ontario, Canada for a short while and to be honest i hit the ground running. Within hours of stepping off the plane i was drumming at a local blues where i had the pleasure of meeting some amazing musicians and even got to play with a few of them. Big Thanks to James Anthony who not only blew my mind with his guitar skills, but he also offered me some work engineering the sound for his television show on the Cogeco Cable Television Network. A huge thanks to my Canadian relatives who are supporting me in my efforts to start a new life in Canada and have also given me access to the most beautiful collection of classic guitars i have ever seen, which i intend to make full use of.

The big news at Craig Logue HQ is that i will be relocating to Burlington, Ontario, just outside Toronto as of September 15th. I am in the fortunate position to have supportive family who have offered me a platform from which i can dive into the Canadian music industry. I am actively seeking employment both voluntary or paid, colaborative projects and general networking with like minded proffesionals with a passion for playing, producing, and engineering. I am very excited about what the future may hold and look forward to meeting musicians and seeing how things work on that side of the water.

I have been working on this page for a while and thought id use it to create my online diary/blog for any past, present or future projects I work on. Ive posted a mix of my own recordings, on which I perform all instrumentation and vocals, as well as songs from other artists where i have worked as a producer/engineer. Have a look around to find out more about me and what I do, and please download a copy of my Resume if you feel my skills might be useful to you. I intend to update this blog on a regular basis, illustrating my dedication to, and exhaustive search for experience in the music industry.
